Here are a few key points on the ideal person for the position:
BS degree in Mechanical engineering with 3+ years of experience (strong
interest in experience with ANY of the following; vehicles, transportation,
electrical rotating machine (motor, generator), suspension, springs,
dampers, axles, etc.)
Experience with a 3d cad package
Knowledge/experience with Six Sigma, DFMEA, cost reduction, or reverse
engineering
Hands -on experience with hardware, manufacturing and/or materials
BASIC Analysis knowledge (FEA)

Opportunity in Chicago (Northwest side) for a Design / Engineer:
Duration: Long term contract
Shift: First
Pay: $Depends on experience
Our client is looking for an experienced CAD Design Engineer who is proficient with SolidWorks. Must have a background designing a Consumer Product. Will be working closely with the project managers and VP of Product Development.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop solid models, engineering drawings and BOM's for new product concept.
Create and maintain 3-D CAD Models and Assemblies using SolidWorks
Design parts in a variety of materials and processes including injection molded, blow-molded and roto-molded plastics, metal fabrication and assemblies, fabric construction and wood components.
Create prototype parts of CAD models using rapid prototyping technologies and traditional model making techniques.
Design complicated mechanical assemblies including components, mates, constraints and part interactions.
Required Skills:
B.S. Mechanical Engineering preferred, will consider Associate's degree in related field
5 + years of work experience in consumer products using Solidworks to create unique solutions to mechanical challenges
Experience designing parts for a variety of manufacturing processes (injection molded, blow-molded and roto-molded plastics, metal fabrication and assemblies, fabric construction and wood components)
Qualified candidate resumes must clearly depict where and when experience with SolidWorks CAD was gained, and where and when experience was gained with consumer product design in order to be considered.
