United We Serve
Muslim Americans Answer the Call

Our goal for the summer, which ends on September 11th is 1000 service projects nationally-at least 250 done in cooperation with another faith community.
We plan to compile these accomplishments in a report to the President and the public.
Urgent Request:
This campaign belongs to the entire Muslim American community and we need everyone's participation to meet our goal and make history.
We have tried to make it as simple as possible for you to take part:
  • 1. Tell others! Forward this email to your contacts and networks!
  • 2. Plan a service project (examples below): Send the following information to info@muslimserve.org and we will register it for you!
    · NAME OF ORGANIZATION (IF APPLICABLE):
    · CITY, STATE:
    · DATE OF PROJECT:
    · SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
  • 3. Already did a service project this summer? Tell us about it! Send the following information to info@muslimserve.org so your work can be included in this historical campaign.
    · NAME OF ORGANIZATION (IF APPLICABLE):
    · CITY, STATE:
    · DATE OF PROJECT:
    · SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
  • 4. Volunteer at an existing service project: Find a project in your area at http://www.serve.gov/ and send an email to info@muslimserve.org with the following information:
    · NAME OF ORGANIZATION (IF APPLICABLE):
    · CITY, STATE:
    · DATE OF PROJECT:
    · SHORT DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:
Examples of Service Projects: Service projects can be big or small!
1- Clean a local park: Gather a group of people (as few as 2 is o.k.!) to clean a local park, neighborhood, or street

2- Volunteer to read to children at your local library: Ask your local library if you and a small group can come in to read to kids over the summer. This is an excellent project for the education category

3- Health Fair: Volunteer doctors offer the community free health education for a day.

4- Project Downtown (MSA): is an effort by the Muslim Students' Association to help feed the homeless. Students make packed lunches and pass them out to urban homeless.
